Sawbench Finished

Now I have a place to put my D-8 thumbhole ripsaw, sweet. Aside from that it's gappy, bust solid, and level.

  1. Cool. What height did you make it? I got a 28-inch rip saw recently and am thinking of making my sawhorses nesting and about crotch height; any shorter than that and the toe of the rip saw will hit the ground on the down stroke.

  2. Hello, and thanks for commenting. This one is 20 1/2" tall which comes up to my bent knee, and perfect for most of my shoes. I haven't had to rip with it yet so I'm not sure about any travel issues with that. Don't forget about the angle of the saw, that will reduce the actual depth needed for clearance to the ground. I'm not sure about higher, but this height is definitely comfortable for me.
